Update! lgxkls launches a replacement Travel Bug

After lgxkls' John's triceratops emcache TB racer was muggled after logging only 2.7 miles, they have launched a new TB named John's stegasaurus emcache TB racer, appropriately enough in a cache with Resurrection in it's name. Although 10.2 miles travelled are shown on this Bug's logs, in fact the little stegasaurus is officially at zero miles travelled.

Update! JACKO is first TB race entrant in Greater Manchester

There is another County to add to yesterday's UK Counties visited map, as bluewhitereg has dropped Garland Gang's EMCACHE RACER JACKO Travel Bug into this cache in Greater Manchester, adding 36.4 miles to it's total race distance travelled.

Update! EMCACHE RACER JACKO collected by bluewhitereg

West Yorkshire cacher bluewhitereg, who has logged over 1000 finds in less than a year, collected Garland Gang's JACKO from the Roundhay Reunion V event cache. I've now updated the TB's milage to the official distance (I was half-a-mile out!).

Scroll to bottom of this page for current race positions. I.H.O. means In The Hands Of the named cacher. Entrants with one * after their milage are currently overseas, entrants with two ** have travelled overseas and are currently back in the UK.

Update! JACKO placed into Event Cache in West Yorkshire

Garland Gang's EMCACHE RACER JACKO has been placed by HxRoamer into this event cache being held tonight in West Yorkshire. Pop along and pick him up! If Garland Gang are reading this, could you please click recalculate milage on your TBs' pages? In the meantime I have unofficially calculated the distance travelled as 24.7 miles.

Update! geopirate4's Definitive GeoCoin finally is picked up

After languishing in the same cache for over a month (and briefly thought missing), geopirate4's emcache racer GeoCoin has been collected by birdboot.

Update! The Garland Gang invade South Yorkshire

FiddleMad has placed both EMCACHE RACER JACKO and EMCACHE RACER LOUIS' VROOM VROOM!! into caches in South Yorkshire. JACKO was placed in kb6 and was almost immediately collected by Halifax-based cacher HxRoamer, whilst LOUIS' VROOM VROOM!! was placed in kb14 and is still there. I have made my own milage calculations for both of these Travel Bugs, so the total distance travelled may be corrected later.

Update! The Web Rat's Definitive GeoCoin takes a break in The Algarve

Ratio1 dropped The Web Rat's emCache Racer GeoCoin into this cache in The Algarve, Portugal, where it was almost immediately collected by Froodoo (unsurprising, as they were caching together!) who is planning to place it in a cache back in his homeland of The Netherlands.

Update! ITCHYthirdEYE versus uk89camaro

ITCHYthirdEYE's Travel Bug Itchys' Crown Jewels has been placed by climber1958 into this cache in Ceredigion, West Wales increasing it's total distance travelled by 103.1 miles and putting it right on the heels of uk89camaro's Piston head Pete & Dave TBs for highest milage for a race entrant that hasn't travelled overseas.

Speaking of Piston head Pete & Dave, they were picked up from Rocket two days ago by Kent-based cacher ddr1711, so is a trip to the South-East likely?

Scroll down to bottom of this page for current race standings. I.H.O. means In The Hands Of the named cacher. Race entrants with one * after the milage have travelled overseas, entrants with two ** have travelled overseas and returned to the UK.

Update! Katie 2000's Needles TB visits The Needles

EmCache member OnlyMeUK has dropped Katie2000's Needles Travel Bug into this cache on The Isle Of Wight, not far from The Needles themselves, adding 134.7 miles to it's total distance travelled and moving up to 7th place in the EmCache Travel Bug Race.

Random stats no.6: Distance

Here is an update to last Friday's stats relating to distance:
Longest single move is 1591.9 miles by greedygreenfrog's Greedy Green Frog emCache Racer.
Shortest single move (excluding three entrants that have yet to move, you know who you are lads!) is 1.6 miles by GeoHunter-X's emCache Racer (Horsey Neigh Neigh) Travel Bug.
Total distance moved so far by all entrants is 5843.7 miles, an average of 254.1 miles for each racer, or an average of 127 miles per move.

Thursday 22 October 2009

Update! 1591.9 miles in one hop? That's Greedy!

Greedy Green Frog shows that playing leapfrog is a piece of cake! After no news for a few weeks, yesterday Lansdown dropped greedygreenfrog's Greedy Green Frog TB in this cache on the Atlantic island of Madiera and it was picked up almost immediately by German cacher DerBar. How lucky can one frog be?

Scroll down for latest race positions. I.H.O. means In The Hands Of the named cacher. One * after the TB's milage means that that Travel Bug has travelled overseas, two ** shows that the trackable has travelled overseas and returned to the UK.

Update! EmCache member FiddleMad picks up two race entrants

EmCache member FiddleMad has picked up both of the Garland Gang's TB race entrants.

Wednesday 21 October 2009

Update! Piston head Pete returns to East Midlands

Piston head Pete has returned from his dip in North Wales and been placed in this cache in Derbyshire, which means that Pete (and Dave) has travelled the furthest of any EmCache TB Race entrant that hasn't travelled overseas.

In other news, Karon's Promise Travel Bug has been collected by XTrailers, although at the time of posting this update they had not yet logged the TB out of the cache.

Scroll down to bottom of this page for current race standings. One asterisk after entrant's milage means that it has travelled overseas, two asterisks show that it has travelled overseas and returned to the UK.

Tuesday 20 October 2009

Update! peachleaf's GeoCoin safe, Karon's Promise moves along

mturenhout was somewhat premature with their muggle fears for Three Of A Kind, as superstein has found the cache and collected peachleaf's Definitive GeoCoin.

Additionally, Nottingham cacher Darkfonz has placed Karon's Promise in a new cache that he had published last night, Call of Duty 4. I had a look for this cache this morning but the co-ords were a little out and I didn't have time for a thorough search of the area. Perhaps another member of EmCache will be First-to-Find now that revised co-ordinates have been published? Good to see a photograph of Karon's Promise on it's tracking page. A gift from Mr. Holland perhaps?

Scroll to bottom of this page for current race placings. I.H.O. means being held by the named cacher, rather than in a cache.

Monday 19 October 2009

Update! Itchy looking good, Mrs Web Rat & peachleaf not so good

I was wondering why 9 cachers all passed up the chance to take Itchy's Crown Jewels yesterday, well now the mystery is solved as climber1958 collected Itchy's TB on Saturday, but has only just logged his find.

In other news BBreezers have reported no TBs present in The Three Rs #2 which should contain Mrs Web Rat's race entrant. Perhaps they didn't count it because it's a GeoCoin, not a Travel Bug? Additionally, Dutch cacher mturenhout has reported that Three Of A Kind (current home of peachleaf's GeoCoin) has possibly been muggled, due to the grass being cut?! Hopefully it is just a case of an inexperienced cacher assuming that a cache has been muggled because he can't find it.

As always, scroll down to bottom of this page for current race placings.

Sunday 18 October 2009

Update! A fourth race entrant makes it overseas

Lucky Lottie's Holiday Bug TB has been placed in this multi-cache in the Nordrhein-Westfalen region of Western Germany, therefore gaining it's first asterisk to show that it has travelled overseas.

That means that 3 EmCache TB Race entrants are currently resting in multi-caches, the rest are either in traditionals or In The Hands Of a cacher.

Scroll down to bottom of this page for updated race positions.

Update! Emo goes for swim in a canal

Thank You to FOX 661L who has placed my own EmCache TB Race entrant, Emo the Fast Fish, into this multi-cache alongside the Trent & Mersey Canal in Rugeley, adding 39.3 miles to Emo's total distance travelled.

Update! Horsey Neigh Neigh vaults 6 places up the leaderboard

Geohunter-X's Horsey Neigh Neigh Travel Bug has moved up to 7th place in the EmCache Travel Bug Race thanks to ic clippy dipping it into this cache in Rutland (another County to add to the map!) and then leaving it in this one. Thank You ic!

Random stats no.5; Distance

Here is an update to last Tuesday's stats relating to distance:
Longest single move is 1198.8 miles by RascalGaskells Emcache racer - Cachehopper Travel Bug.
Shortest single move (excluding three entrants that have yet to move, you know who you are lads!) is 1.6 miles by GeoHunter-X's emCache Racer (Horsey Neigh Neigh) Travel Bug.
Total distance moved so far by all entrants is 3730.2 miles, an average of 162.2 miles for each racer, or an average of 95.6 miles per move.

Thursday 15 October 2009

Update! Beam us up, Coppers Lot!

Johnny B. Goode's emCache Racer - You Want Fries With That? and Sukygoeswandering's emCache Racer - From Leicestershire With Love have both been collected by Coppers Lot and are in the process of teleportation to the United States.

If their trip to the U.S. goes as well as NottsCachers' Reverse Goldrush, the other entrants in the EmCache TB Race have nothing to worry about!

Scroll down to bottom of this page for updated race placings. I.H.O. means In The Hands Of. Trackables with one asterisk after their milage have travelled overseas, trackables with two asterisks have travelled overseas and returned to the UK.

Update! Cachehopper back in UK with a tremendous race lead

RascalGaskells emCache racer - Cachehopper has been placed in this cache in West Yorkshire after it's trip to Spain. This means that Cachehopper is the first trackable in The EmCache TB Race to earn a second asterisk to show that it has returned to the UK after an overseas trip, and in less than a month too!

Update! peachleaf and The Web Rat go Dutch

True to his word, astrollamas has placed The Web Rat and peachleaf's EmCache race GeoCoins in this cache in the West of The Netherlands, vaulting them up to 2nd and 3rd places in the race. Will they make it back to the UK in time for EmCache's Second Anniversary Event?

Update! Two racers are picked-up and one is buried alive!

Both Itchys' Crown Jewels and Lucky Lottie's Holiday Bug have been collected by cachers for onward movement. Holiday Bug is expected to appear shortly in a cache in Germany!

In other news, geopirate4's GeoCoin was transferred to the UK TB Graveyard, only to miraculously re-appear in the cache, Alien's Hideaway that it went missing from, having seemingly been there the whole time. Welcome back little EmCache Racer!

Random stats no.4; Finders

Not counting Discovered logs, and excluding geopirate4's GeoCoin, a total of 13 cachers have collected EmCache Travel Bug 2009/2010 Race entrants, including 4 EmCache members, 3 of whom have trackables of their own in the race.

RascalGaskells' Cachehopper is the only entrant to be collected by 3 different cachers, and OnlyMeUK is the only EmCache member without a trackable in the race to have collected an entrant.

Wednesday 7 October 2009

Random stats no.3; Caches visited

Another slow day, so here are the stats on caches visited (excluding the starting cache);
Runaway leader in this category is Katie 2000's Needles Travel Bug which has visited 6 caches, all in Leicestershire.
RascalGaskells' Cachehopper TB has visited 3 caches (including one in Spain) and three other entries have visited 2 caches each. All the others have been logged into 1 each except for the three competitors that haven't yet left the starting line.
Total caches visited (including duplicates) is 30, or 1.3 per racer.

Tuesday 6 October 2009

Random Stats No.2; Distance

Tuesdays must be a slow day in terms of Travel Bug moves, so here is an update to last Tuesday's stats relating to distance:
Longest single move is 1198.8 miles by RascalGaskells Emcache racer - Cachehopper Travel Bug.
Shortest single move (excluding three entrants that have yet to move, you know who you are lads!) is 1.7 miles by Karon's Promise Travel Bug.
Total distance moved so far by all entrants is 1942.1 miles, an average of 84.4 miles for each racer, or an average of 64.7 miles per move.

Monday 5 October 2009

Update! Call that a hop? And has an entrant been the victim of piracy?

I would be more likely to describe it as a massive leap, as RascalGaskells' Cachehopper TB takes a huge lead in the race thanks to astra-nomical placing it in this cache in Andalucia, Southern Spain, therefore Cachehopper becomes the first entrant to have an asterisk added after the milage to show that it has travelled overseas. A second asterisk will be added if it returns to the UK, which is very likely as it has now been collected by Yorkshire based cacher overanout.

In other news geopirate4's definitive geocoin has been reported absent from the cache that it should be in and it's location has been adjusted to whereabouts unknown. Hopefully this is just a case of a newbie cacher unsure how to log a trackable and geopirate4's coin will turn up shortly.

Scroll down to the foot of this page for latest race placings. I.H.O. means In The Hands Of, i.e. currently in the possession of a cacher.

Update! Piston Head Pete (& Dave) dip into 2nd place

Swirl and Wag have dipped uk89camaro's Piston Head Pete (with Dave) into this cache in North Wales, making Pete the first Travel Bug in the race to leave England, and leaping it up to Second position in the race.

Karon's Promise has been collected from TREE HUGGIN' HEAVEN 2 by BalooCrew and may be ready to rush up the race rankings!
