In the absence of any moves today, here are some stats relating to distance:
Longest single move is 139.2 miles by Mrs Web Rat's definitive GeoCoin.
Shortest single move (excluding two entrants that have yet to move, you know who you are lads!) is 1.7 miles by Karon's Promise Travel Bug.
Total distance moved so far by all entrants is 594.4 miles, an average of 28.3 miles for each racer, or an average of 23.8 miles per move.

It is not too late to enter the race!
If any emCache member would like to enter a trackable in the race, it is not too late. Entries will be accepted until niknrich archives the event cache, which will be soon, so be quick!
Simply virtually log your trackable (any item trackable at GeoCaching.Com, whether Travel Bug, GeoCoin, Adventure Guide, Cache Mover, Trakabull, etc is okay) into the emCache September Event and then place into a cache in the East Midlands. Don't forget to let me know, so that I can add your entrant to the blog.

Disaster for John's triceratops emcache TB racer!
It appears that one of the entrants has been eliminated from the race after the muggling of this cache. However, all hope is not lost as Travel Bugs have turned up after unexplained absences in the past.
Additionally the emCache September Event has not yet been archived, so a replacement Travel Bug may be launched!

Update! Dipfest for Katie 2000's Needles Travel Bug
OnlyMeUK has dipped Katie 2000's Needles Travel Bug in two more caches today, increasing total milage to 32.4. This entrant has now visited five different caches in addition to the starting September event!

Update! Katie 2000's Needles moves 10.8 miles
OnlyMeUK has placed Katie 2000's Travel Bug in Grimmauld Place, adding 10.8 miles and returning it almost to where it began the race from!

The Garland Gang have placed their two entrants, LOUIS' VROOM VROOM!! and JACKO and have also picked up The Great Galaxy Seekers' GeoCoin. I have calculated the milage travelled on Garland Gang's Travel Bugs myself (as they have not yet clicked "Recalculate Distance"), so it may be a little out and will be re-adjusted if needed.

Current standing are listed at foot of this page and in the format of RANKING, TRACKABLE NAME, (DESCRIPTION), OWNER, LOCATION, TOTAL MILAGE. I.H.O. means In The Hands Of, rather than in a cache. Any trackable that leaves the UK will have a single * added to it's ranking and if it returns to the UK will have ** added to it's ranking.

To celebrate EmCache's First Birthday, a trackables race has been started on 15th September 2009. The winner will be the trackable that is presented at EmCache's 2nd Anniversary Meeting, having covered the greatest number of miles, including at least one trip outside the UK.
